A night with the stars
Famous faces from across Africa attended the Universal+ launch, hosted by Anele Mdoda.
From must-watch dramas to the very best reality series, Universal+ launches on Friday, 14 October and A-listers gathered to celebrate the new entertainment offering.
Anele Mdoda, host of E! Entertainment’s (DStv Channel 124) game show, Celebrity Game Night, led proceedings for the evening, which featured live performances from Shekinah and Sho Madjozi.
The stars enjoyed DJ sets from Ms Cosmo and DJ Nova until late, with Ayanda Thabethe, Jason Goliath, Roxy Burger, Chris Jaftha, Boity Thulo, Khanyi Mbau, Lasizwe Dambuza, Minnie Dlamini, Mahlali Ndamase, Tumi Mhlongo, Tyra Chikocho, Lydia Forson, Dineo Langa, and Oros Mampofu.
The stars dazzle
Celebrity Game Night team captains Ayanda Thabethe and Jason Goliath joined their co-star Anele Mdoda in celebrating the Universal+ launch. All three seasons of Celebrity Game Night will be available on Universal+, with the brand-new Season 4 launching in 2023. Roxy Burger and Chris Jaftha hosted the red-carpet, where they caught up the stars, before heading in to enjoy celebrations.

Content highlights include Celebrity Game Face, Mathis Family Matters, Welcome Home Nikki Glaser?, Keeping Up with The Kardashians, Tell Me Your Secrets, Fantasy Island, Departure, Leverage: Redemption, The Scent of Passion, Nurses, 100 Days to Fall in Love, All Hail King Julien, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Dawn of the Croods, and Dinotrux.
Executives from NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer and DStv also gathered for the occasion, with Lee Raftery, Managing Director EMEA for NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer, opening proceedings by saying a few words alongside MultiChoice Group CEO Nyiko Shiburi.
