HONEY on DStv channel 173 is giving five of Africa’s hottest social media influencers a chance to become a HONEY Star in a new reality TV show, The Next Big Trender. For 10 weeks these aspiring reality TV stars will have to introduce different facets of their lives in a series of videos and photographs and reveal intimate details about themselves. A critical judging panel of Pan-Africanist opinionistas will score their content. The challenge for the influencers is to make a smooth transition from their already flourishing social media presence to reality TV.
Featuring influencers from Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya and Ghana, this show is sure to keep you on your toes with plot changes and twists that will leave you in stiches, in tears or in love. Meet the contestants.
Sheila King’ori is a Kenyan fashion, travel, food, leisure and lifestyle content creator. She goes by the username @pearlsandloaf and has 28.7K Instagram followers, 827 on Twitter, 547 subscribers on YouTube and 2.4K followers on Facebook. She regularly blogs on her website www.pearlsandloaf.com and says that journaling her thoughts and experiences helps her to tell stories through her own lens.
Precious Omoregie is from Nigeria. She is a lawyer, entrepreneur, model, foodie, creative make-up lover and a beauty blogger. Her YouTube channel is about beauty, self-empowerment and plus-size fashion. She goes by the username @mychaskia and has 28.5K followers on Instagram, 2.1K on Twitter and 1.2K YouTube subscribers.
Nadia Matovu is from Uganda. Her username is @mrs.matovu. She is a businesswoman and content creator with 74.5K followers on Instagram, 4.7K YouTube subscribers and 4.4K Facebook followers.
Lharley Lartey is from Ghana. Under the username @_lharley_ she has 313K Instagram followers and 1.4K Facebook followers.
Kutlwano Motla is from South Africa. She is an advocate, a member of the Johannesburg legal bar and a travel content creator. She is known for her #cocktailsaroundtheworld Instagram series where she has 11.5K followers and goes by the username @the_boujee_traveller. On Twitter she is known as @misskay_BANK and has 1.1K followers.

Although viewers are not allowed to vote, they are encouraged to help their favourite influencers trend on social media.
