In emotional docu-reality series Unefa, deserving individuals are surprised to learn that they are overdue to receive inheritance left to them by deceased family or loved ones. The much-talked-about Mnakwethu returns for season 2 with host Musa Mseleku continuing to explore the concept of polygamy, as already married men introduce their desire to take on a second wife. And in Lebo M: Coming Home, the iconic Grammy-Award singer talks about his rise to fame and the historic years working on The Lion King.

If drama is what you’re looking for, the brand new season of Abomama is exactly what you need as four church-going women who were forced into a world of organised crime seem to have escaped the consequences of their actions – until a mysterious, naked young woman arrives at their door step.

Unefa S1

Every year thousands of South Africans don’t receive the money that they’ve legally inherited from deceased family and loved ones. A beneficiary could have been a minor at the time of death who is still unaware of the payment, or it could be a case of incorrect details – contact information changed, not updated, or wrongly logged.

The aim of Mzansi Magic’s brand new Unefa is to close this gap. Host Motlatsi Mafatshe takes viewers on an emotional and reflective journey in this docu-reality series wherein unsuspecting beneficiaries are surprised with this information.

The show will trace the relationship between the family and the deceased, while sharing the beneficiary’s healing process. Each episode, of course, culminates with their reaction during the moment of truth when the big surprise is revealed: that they will be receiving an inheritance.

Unefa is not only set to entertain and educate, but also change lives.

Mnakwethu EPG Poster 1920X1080

Mnakwethu S2

Hosted by Musa Mseleku, Mnakwethu explores the concept of polygamy, as already married men introduce their desire to take on a second wife. Although polygamy still raises eyebrows and is often viewed as primitive and sexist, it is an age-old practice that continues to thrive on the African continent and across the globe.

Mnakwethu season 2 will offer key insights of what it actually takes to be a man married to multiple women. As a man in a polygamous marriage himself, Mseleku shares first-hand experiences of the ups and downs of a polygamous marriage. He will also interrogate and engage with the man to unpack why he would like another wife, and whether he is indeed capable of taking care of multiple families financially.

“We are happy to once again share stories that are underpinned by African cultures and customs. The show will leave our viewers engaged in a societal debate that will leave them holding diverse points of view highlighted by this reality series,” says Nomsa Philiso, the Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

Nqobile EPG

Nqobile S1

Nqobile is the ill-treated makoti of the Nkosi family dynasty who manages to outsmart her entitled, abusive husband and take over his empire. She transforms it into a women-led e-hailing service, and with newfound grit, indirectly declares war against her spouse.

“The fact that this riveting series mirrors real life and real-time scenarios such as the battle between e-hailing services and traditional meter taxis while also exploring issues such as gender-based violence, shows synchrony between Mzansi Magic content and relevant, real life events. This is something we are excited about at the channel,” says Nomsa Philiso, the Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

The new 13-part Mzansi Magic drama series Nqobile depicts a woman’s quest to rise above marital abuse and begin to live fearlessly. As she is thrust into a male-dominated industry and a new position of power, the show reveals everything she must do to negotiate her freedom, maintain respect and thrive.

Created and produced by Ayanda Borotho, Adze Ugah and Nobuntu Webster, Nqobile is captured against the luxurious aesthetic of Leondale streets and is juxtaposed with less opulent environments where hustling is a way of life.
