Viewers on DStv can look forward to seeing one of Africa's rising stars, Angolan forward M'Bala Nzola, in action for Spezia in Serie A this weekend.

DStv is the only true home of football in Africa, offering a range and depth of action that no other rival can match – it’s literally ‘Unbeatable Football’! If you’re going to spend your money on something, it may as well be on the best football in the world.

Nzola is a 26-year-old striker who is enjoying the best season of his career to date, returning to prolific form in front of goal after an indifferent 2021-22 campaign where he managed just two strikes.

The Angolan international previously caught the eye in the 2020-21 season when he scored 11 league goals and registered three assists, under the guidance of manager Vincenzo Italiano.

Italiano, who is currently the boss at Fiorentina, sees something of Ivorian legend Didier Drogba in Nzola: "[He] is a fast striker, good at attacking the box and making the team play well. I see a young Drogba in him.”

Born in Buco-Zau, Angola, in August 1996, Nzola's family emigrated to France when he was a child. The forward came through the youth systems of Troyes AC (France) and Academica (Portugal) before making his senior professional debut with the latter team in a Taca da Liga match in January 2015.

He went on to play for Sertanense (Portugal), Virtus Francavilla, Carpi and Trapani (all Italy) before joining Spezia on loan in January 2020. He helped the Liguria-based club earn promotion to Serie A for the 2020-21 campaign and signed permanently in October 2020.

Nzola's gradual rise to prominence has now seen him linked with a move away from Spezia – Serie A clubs such as Atalanta and even Napoli have been rumoured as possible destinations, while the lure of the Premier League (in the shape of West Ham United and Crystal Palace) is also strong.

Nzola will look to keep up his fine form and help Spezia potentially claim a major scalp when they host Internazionale at Stadio Alberto Picco on the evening of Friday 10 March – a match you can see LIVE on SuperSport Football, SuperSport Maximo 360 and SuperSport GOtv Select 1.

No rival can compete with SuperSport’s coverage. Our viewers on DStv enjoy an unrivalled selection of football from around the world!
