The new season of the massively popular Mpali series from OneZed DStv Channel 172 and GOtv Channel 8 follows Nguzu and his family as they face their toughest challenges yet.
Nguzu, reeling from the sudden death of a family member, returns home and is shocked to learn his farm has closed and has been seized by his enemy…with the help of the least expected. Nguzu – whose kin is expanding even further, causing more tension – will fight for the farm, but who will be the casualties of his wrath?
This season will also see characters face off as they fight their demons and the past deeds that haunt them. Can they overcome these battles? Who will emerge triumphant? Will the farm and family ever rise?
“The show has stayed on the channel due to its relatability to the market and in-line with our continued assessment of audience preference patterns,” said Mosibudi Pheeha. “The family dynamics it explores makes it close to viewers’ hearts, as they see themselves and people, they know portrayed in it, although the circumstances might be different. We’re proud to bring our subscribers another season of this exciting telenovela, and to keep creating content with the best talent in the country, on and off camera,” she concluded.
As a show that viewers don’t only relate to but can take lessons from, season 5 of Mpali brings a family at war to the centre: will they stick together through the toughest storms? Love does conquer all, in the end – so, will it?
Tune into Mpali season 5 on OneZed (DStv channel 172 and GOtv Supa channel 8), Monday to Thursday, starting 1 July 20h30.
