29 June 2022, Lusaka: Zambezi Magic, the home of local entertainment will reach an epic milestone soon – the channel turns seven on 1 July, and it has been an incredible journey that has seen the launch of some of the nation’s top shows across numerous genres, much to the viewing delight of loyal audiences.
“We are excited to be celebrating the seven-year milestone. From inception, Zambezi Magic has worked with up-and-coming to highly proclaimed local producers, writers, directors and onscreen talent to create compelling content suitable for family viewing,” said Mosibudi Pheeha, Channel Head for Zambezi Magic.
It is not by chance that the channel has survived in the most turbulent times in an effort to dodge economic and social disturbances that have impacted individuals one way or another since the global pandemic landed in 2019 and which has since impacted shooting schedules on a large scale. Despite it all, the channel has still managed to up its game and rise to the challenge of continuing to deliver content that resonates with viewers whilst creating a source of escapism during the intense time. “Our mantra as a channel is: We do not make content for ourselves, but for our viewers and we continually study the macro environment and audience behaviour to ensure that we are delivering content that drives eyeballs and discussion beyond the household and where warranted make the necessary tweaks to ensure that content remains topical whilst fostering a culture of family time,” she concluded
