Bromance, the hotly anticipated new reality show on Mzansi Magic, is coming to your screens this January. It’s all about brotherhood, friendship, and the chaos of growing up in the heart of Jozi. This isn’t just any group of friends. This is a tight-knit squad of four young men navigating their careers, love lives, and the challenges of adulthood—while juggling wild weekend escapades and a thirst for the good life.
But underneath the party vibes, there’s a deeper story: can these guys handle the leap from carefree bachelors to future husbands? Set against the vibrant backdrop of the ‘Jozi’s lifestyle and nightlife’, Bromance dives into the world of real, raw male friendships. It’s all about the struggle between staying true to the carefree, fun-loving side of life and stepping up to the responsibilities of maturity. Whether it's the lure of parties, the pressure to settle down or the messiness of complicated love lives, these guys are in for one heck of a ride!
“Bromance captures the reality and struggles of many men trying to balance their playful lifestyles with the serious aspirations of becoming married men. It’s a journey of self-discovery, questioning whether they are truly ready for the committed life they seek," says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels.
Meet the Squad:
DJ Kaygo - The Pretty Boy & Master Manipulator (Kgotso Tsagae, 34): A smooth-talking superstar always in trouble, Kaygo is the one who pushes the group to take life less seriously. His arrogance and knack for mischief often land him in hot water, but he’s quick on his feet and always down for a good time.
Lemii - The Funny Guy & The Leader (Molemo Lehoko, 34): Known as Ntoze’mnadi Ntoze'summer, Lemii is the glue that holds the group together. He’s the emotionally open one, the guy who’s not afraid to share his feelings and encourage the group to do the same. But his tendency to overshare sometimes backfires.
Hloni - The Wild Card & The Blunt Guy (Hloni Mahlangu, 35): Hloni, also known as The Clown, is always up for an adventure. He’s brutally honest, often calling out his friends when they’re not being true to themselves. But his bluntness can sometimes sting a little too much.
Thato - The Gentle Giant & The Peacemaker (Thato Chuene, 37) Known as Thato with the Good Legs, he’s the calm, nerdy soul of the group, always the peacemaker who smooths over conflicts. But his unyielding confidence can sometimes make him seem cold and unwilling to compromise.
Join these four friends as they face the highs and lows of adulthood in Bromance —a reality show that proves real friendships are built to last, even when the road to maturity is anything but easy. Catch Bromance on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) from Tuesday, 07 January at 20h00 and watch how these guys do life, love, and everything in between!
