The winning moment!
Kentse is heading to Paris!
“It’s a really big deal to win this competition,” said judge Noni Gasa in an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview a few hours before Kentse earned the title of Project Runway SA winner. “Essentially we are choosing an ambassador tonight to represent us in Paris.”
Judge Rahim Rawjee based his final decision on the commerciality, wearability and creativity of the collection – and Kentse’s runway looks ticked all the boxes!
Jaime, Kentse and Kireshen’s 12-look collections impressed host Lerato Kganyago, mentor Gert-Johan Coetzee, judges Noni Gasa and Rahim Rawjee, and guest judge Khanyi Dhlomo, but what is a Project Runway SA episode without honest critique?

While Jaime’s collection had “amazingly strong pieces” and showed great use of colour, the judges felt they’ve seen some of the looks before.
Kireshen’s creativity wowed the judges, but they would have liked to see him show a little more craft and technical skill.
The judges felt that Kentse tried to showcase too much with one collection, and not every piece grabbed their attention, but ultimately she had enough “champions” to pull off the win.
