Winnie seemed to be an open book to Mzansi - fearless, go-getter, selfish and out to get one thing...a happily ever after with the love of her life, Lebone.
Last night, she showed us that she has a softer side that is very protective of those she cares about. She also began the process of forming the ninjas squad. We look at five lessons to learn from Winnie about frienship.
1. Friends help each other heal
Winnie is quite a hothead. When she had even subtle doubts that Thishiwe's magic had broguht Lebone to her, she did not pull any punches and ended their friendship. Fastforward to the next day, Winnie finds out that Thishiwe also lost her mother and all doubts were forgiven as Thishiwe and Winnie became ninjas for life.
2. Friends stand up for each other
Panda finally plucked up the guts to ask Winnie to be his date for the matric dance. She was keen, after some cajoling but she had one condition; he must also find a date for Thishiwe. When Panda and his squad went on about Thishiwe being a witch, Winie was quick to call them to order, reminding them who was boss.
3. Friends push each other towards their dreams
Londi told Winnie that she was giving up on school and Winnie was not having any of it. Not only did she try to convince her over the phoe, but Winnie went as far as going to Londi's place of work and landing her trouble. Luckily, Londi got a new job with the trouble and a chance to go back to school.
4. Friends don't Blackmail Friends
Noxolo learned this lesson the hard way when she tried to get Winnie to help her find a date for the matric dance, by threatening that she would tell the community about Thishiwe's magic. However, Winnie is not one to be duoed and quickly turned the table on the amatuer.
5. Sometimes, there is a Really Good Reason for the Blackmail
This is when Winnie showed us she has a softer and more mature side. She saw through Noxolo's threats to the fear inside her. Noxolo then felt she could open up to Winnie about her stapfather raping her and her now carrying his child. Noxolo also revealed that she wanted a matric dance date to cover up the true identity of the father of her child.
