The designers were tasked with creating outfits inspired by the vibrant streets of Braamfontein in this week’s episode of #ProjectRunwaySA.

One day you are in, the next you are out. After earning his first challenge win of the season, Stephen’s luck ran out after failing to impress the judges with his efforts to bring streetstyle to the runway.

Stephen’s streetwear-influenced outfit got very little support from judge Rahim Rawjee in this week’s episode of Project Runway SA. “I don’t know any woman that would want to look like that,” Rawjee said. He told his fellow judges that when you try and put the designer in “a box that he does not fit into, it’s not gonna happen – and that’s the thing with Stephen!”

While Stephen will surely be missed, the remaining designers have one shared goal: Making it to the finale. They are:

Jaime

The 27-year-old designer dreams of one day working with the luxury fashion house Balenciaga.

Jaime’s reimagining of streetstyle secured him a win at the end of this week’s episode. The judges loved the fact that his fur jacket cleverly marries streetwear and “glam night out”.

Kentse

Her designer spirit animal is Coco Chanel and the 26-year-old would like to open her own professional design studio.

Kentse’s “loud” orange outfit got mixed reactions from the judges this week. The look didn’t feel “new” to presenter Lerato Kganyago, while Rawjee loved the minimal lines.

Kireshen

The 32-year-old grew up in a fashion-forward home and his ultimate fashion dream is to work with the Gianni Versace company.

The judges felt Kireshen’s reversible bomber jacket captured the theme of the streetwear challenge, but they weren’t in love with the look as a whole.

Sandile

An atelier in Paris and a collaboration with the house Versace would be a dream come true for the 38-year-old.

“This is talent,” guest judge Andile Cele said after seeing Sandile’s design on the runway this week. “There’s a balance in the chaos.”

Noni Gasa felt the ensemble didn’t work, as Sandile tried to serve “two very different women”.
