As Clash of the Choirs SA season 4 heads into its final stages, KZN’s Team Ntencane continue their winning streak, claiming victory with another outstanding performance. In a surprising twist, the competition bid farewell to both Limpopo’s Team HLE and Mpumalanga’s Team Khanyisa in a dramatic double elimination, while Western Cape’s Team Vusi Nova celebrated their return with a strong performance.
The choirs were given the challenge of performing songs that showcase the vocal abilities of leading artists, allowing individual talents within the choirs to shine.
For the third consecutive week, KZN’s Team Ntencane were the winners, wowing the judges and audience with their rendition of Daniel Caesar’s Best Part featuring H.E.R. Dr Tumi praised them, saying, "You saved the day," while Buhlebendalo described their performance as "sexy" and "engaging," highlighting the choir's ability to draw in the audience.
The eliminations of Limpopo’s Team HLE and Mpumalanga’s Team Khanyisa, both performing without their choirmasters, came as a shock. Team HLE's rendition of Luther Vandross's Power of Love received mixed feedback. Dr Tumi questioned the impact of their absent choirmaster, while Buhlebendalo criticised their lack of versatility, and Zwai simply stated, "You’re not performing."
Team Khanyisa, faced similar challenges. Their take on Buhlebendalo’s Nyamazane left Dr Tumi feeling they had lost their essence, while Zwai expressed disappointment in their seriousness, and Buhlebendalo pointed out a clumsy start to their performance.
Western Cape’s Team Vusi Nova made their triumphant comeback with Lloyiso’s Intliziyo featuring Langa Mavuso. Dr Tumi acknowledged their impressive comeback, and Buhlebendalo praised the vocalists but advised against overdoing it.
Over the last 12 weeks, the choirs have won viewers' hearts with their stories, emotion, and vocal ability, each fighting for the ultimate R1-million cash prize. As the finale approaches, it's now up to the viewers to decide who will win season 4.
