SAFTAS

In case you missed it, our fave Mzansi Magic shows have bagged 11 SAFTA 2023 nominations in total.

We're just here to celebrate a few moments that mzansi will never forget from some of our nominated shows.

1. Gladys and Mazet keep us glued to this SAFTA award-winning telenovela, Gomora, which boasts 5 nominations this year. The drama is action-packed, the weddings are glamorous and the rise of Teddy has been a pleasure to watch. Even our favourite baby girl, Zodwa became a wife. Watch this moment below:

2. Mzansi Icons uncovered the tales of SA's trailblazers, and their trials and tribulations that led them to their legendary status. Maps Maponyane interviewed author and entrepreneur, Amanda Dambuza. As well as Khuli Chana, Thabang Moleya, and more. Here is our favourite moment with former Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi:

3. What else is there to say about our favourite wedding show, Our Perfect Wedding? For years, Mzansi has gathered to uncover the worst kisses, the best dressed, and the shady comments from the bridal party. The SAFTA-nominated season 13 gave us twins who got married on the same day, now that's content. 😍 Watch that special moment below:

4. Sundays are for lovers is an official Mzansi Magic mantra. With Sunday Sexy Love, Tumi Morake has served us our favourite celebrity couples in intimate and fun ways. We have gotten a little insight into their world and what a ride it has been. Celebrity couple Bontle and Priddy Ugly gave us real love and friendship and Mzansi talked about this chemistry for days. See more here:

5. Diepcity season two gave us the rise and fall of pastor Charles and more of our fave - Kelina. To say this season was action-packed would be an understatement. Lives were lost, and criminals had to atone for their sins. Saying goodbye to our beloved characters was not easy and we shed a tear or two. Check how the season finale went down here:

6. VIP Invite brings the anointing and the content at the same, and our presenter HLE not only hosts but sings. If you know, you know. Our favourite moment on the show is when she performs with her gospel guests. This moment between legend Keke and Hle was everything. Check out the moment they performed Umoya Wami on the show:

7. The Republic gave us our first female president in season one, but in season two, we meet the ultimate villain - MK. MK had us glued to our screens every Sunday at 20:00, serving us corruption and betrayal. He got a taste of his own medicine when he got poisoned after trying to take out Madame President. Watch the moment here:

8. Ayeye Stripped made a mother of all comebacks. The talent on the show included Rosemary Zimu, Luyanda Mthembu, and Zama Ncgobo. The storyline unpacked entanglements, baby mama drama, and the world of Only Fans. Zoleka and Tsholo shooting content together definitely had mzansi talking. Watch the saucy moment here:

9. Abazali is guarenteed to leave you in your feelings and Thato Molamu and the resident law expert are great at navigating difficult and estranged relationships between children and their parents. In one of the episodes, we met Mmani Mokoena; a woman who had not seen her child for four years. Watch more here:
