Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) has extended broadcast for The Queen to a Monday to Friday telenovela, favouring fans with an extra dose of suspense, intrigue, spice and comic relief. From July 31, viewers will be able to enjoy more of the Khoza family antics and the shenanigans of their friends and foes.
The Brutus and Kgositsile meme Hall of Fame is about to be blessed with more of these beloved characters’ quirky tongue in cheek humour and facial expressions when The Queen becomes a five-days-a-week show.
“The Queen has become one of the channel’s most popular show. As it stands, it broadcasts from Monday to Thursday, but its immense acclaim demands that we make it a full five-day a week show. Viewers just can’t get enough of the twists and turns in the story, so we are giving them more,” says Reneilwe Sema, M-Net’s Director of Local Channels.
To up the stakes, is the new entry of a seasoned actress joining the already stellar cast, Rami Chuene. She’ll be bringing some hot sauce into the Khoza potjie portraying the character of Gracious.
Another new face will be that of well-known actor Thato Molamu, who plays successful up-and-coming prosecutor Bakang. Good-looking, charming and a hit with women, there’s more to this sharp-shooting lawyer than meets the eye – as the Maake family is about to find out.
Old time favourite Magic Hlatshwayo returns as Kwanele’s supportive dad, Alpheus, who comes back to help his son find his feet again.
The Queen viewers will have more days to light up social media as the plots thicken and the drama cranks up.
Kagiso starts a war against his family, but will he be able to see it to the end? Meanwhile, Harriet’s empire comes under threat from new fronts, and Kea is the hero who saves a loved one from a dangerous situation.
There’s just no excuse to miss a single episode of The Queen; now to air Monday to Friday from July 31 on Mzansi Magic, DStv Channel 161 at 21:00.
