The explosive post-reunion wrap up of Married At First Sight Mzansi snatched all the clout on Sunday.

The newlywed couples Thami and Zithobile, Sebenzile and Boitshepo, Makhumo and Thabang, as well as Litsoanelo (affectionately known as ‘Dee’) and Khutso, all assembled to unpack and reflect on their journeys to unconventional marriage. 

The faves, who have shot to fame and high public visibility thanks to the reality show’s popularity, dished up on the truths as Ntombee Ngcobo piloted the highly-anticipated season deep dive. It takes place 9 months after the pairs made their vows just within minutes of meeting their spouses. After getting hitched to the the perfect stranger, who had been chosen for them by a panel of esteemed therapists, the couples moved in together to navigate and explore sweet honeymoons. 

Spilling on how married life has continued after tapings, the couples gagged the locals with shocking revelations, awe-inspiring details of love doubling down, as well as accounts of their experiences. 

Unfortunately for Thami and Zithobile, marital bliss appears to have been short-lived. The couple, adorable in their authenticity and vulnerability, gained a sizeable fanbase rooting for them to make it. After all, viewers watched them navigate challenges with a sense of honesty. Although their marriage has been steeped in constanst resistance and tension, the couple continued to challenge  themselve to get better at it. 

But on Sunday, the couple confirmed that their vows had been shattered. Thami, joining remotely from Dubai, shared shocking accounts of the events that led to the end of their journey together. After being involved in a car accident, he had ended up in a comma. In the months that followed, he moved in with Zithobile and her family to focus on his recovery. By the end of that three months, the couple’s marriage had been burdened with bitter strife. 

Viewers had barely recovered from the recommitment episode, where Thabang has decided to go his way after alleging that Makhumo had been unfaithful. In a shocking speech to his wife, Thabang revealed how he’d gained access to Makhumo’s phone, and found that she’d still been actively talking to someone else. On Sunday, the couple revealed that the scandal did not spell a permanent end to their marriage. They’ve decided to take things slowly, however, with plans for the next phase in a traditional path to marriage. 

Similar outcomes were shared by Khutso and Dee, who gushed about their own bliss. This comes after a rocky journey on the show, where they struggled to navigate their new marriage as spouses with children from previous relationships. They couple had also faced trust issues when met with public challenges that involved the other couples, such as that spicy game. However, with time, they seem to have found their way.
