An epic season of Clash of the Choirs came to an epic end on Sunday. For 13 episodes, seven choirmasters took each other on in a display of their choirs vocal and creative prowess. The stakes were high; the winning choir would walk away with a cool million rand to share, R250 000 to donate to the charity of their choice, and well as bragging rights for their province.

Every week, save for the one week judge Zwai Bala showed the bottom two choirs mercy and saved them both, one choir bowed out of the competition. In the end, only two choirs remained: Team Kelly from the City of God, whose bold fighting spirit and exuberance modeled that of their choirmaster, and Team JR from Mpumalanga, who were seen as the underdogs in the beginning and dismissed by many.

In the end, the underdog took top honours and clinched the title of Clash of the Choirs season three winners, joining the winners' club whose member were Team Khaya from season one, and Team Robbie from season two, both from KZN. Team JR managed to stop KZN from a hat-trick win.

Hip-hop artist, seasoned producer and choirmaster JR expressed his elation on Twitter.

Congratulatory tweets poured in for the team from the place of the rising sun, and it became clear that they had stolen the hearts of South Africa. Also congratulating Team JR were celebrities and public figures like Sammy Sosa, Bonang Matheba, K Naomi, Thapelo Mokoena, the Mayor of Tswane Councillor Kgosientso Ramokgopa, and even fiercely competitive but ousted choirmaster iFani.

Congratulations once again to Team JR and Mpumalanga!
