At the centre of the Rockville plot is this beautiful law student who grew up in a four-roomed matchbox house in Soweto, with a spaza shop, hair salon and a bakery run out of the kitchen. The family is led by her mother, Mavis Mabaso.
In a bid to supplement her family income, Lindi gets a job at Club Venus and the club owner JB uses this as an advantage to corrupt her into being a prostitute but the two eventually fall in love and her mom kicks her out when she discovers.
This doesn’t only have a negative impact on their families but also affects Lindi when she tries to put her life in order and gets married to Sandile – he can’t deal with her past and she would rather be with JB. As JB battles against the clock to find and free his wife and daughter (who have been kidnapped by JB's father), Lindi heads to church to pray for her mother, who's been battling with alcohol.
Season 4
Lindi emerges from Season 3 with her marriage in tatters, and pregnant with the child of the man who turned her into a prostitute. But after the dramatic incidents of episode 1, Lindi decides to go it alone, and raise her son as a single mother, refusing all contact with JB.
When Sandile re-enters her life, she is even offered the opportunity to resume her marriage to a man who still loves her dearly. But can she truly walk away from JB, and the irrational love she’s always felt for him?
