Thabiso & Roxanne
It is said that true love knows no colour, age or gender. It just knows two hearts that are committed to each other, and it responds by staying. This week’s couple are testament to just that. They are an age and culture defying pair that are bound by the affection that flows from one’s heart towards the other.
Our Zulu groom Thabiso, 26, met his 31-year-old coloured fiancee Roxanne at church, and the age gap couldn’t keep him away any more than the difference in culture could. He had met his enchanted love and he was smitten!
When Thabiso lost his job, discouraged and despondent, he had all but given up and had decided to pack his bags and return to Mahikeng, but Roxanne’s love and encouragement convinced him to stay, weather the storm and continue the fight. It was then that Thabiso knew he would make her his wife, and adopt her 6-year-old son as his own.
Two cultures will come together and be united under the banner of a common faith and celebration of love when Thabiso and Roxanne tie the knot at Dunkeld Country Estate in Dullstroom.
