For 13 consecutive years, ProVerb has displayed some impressive chops as the host of Idols SA. Real name Tebogo Sidney Thapelo Thekisho, the multi-hyphenate media personality first burst onto the Idols stage on the show’s sixth season.

Then known mainly for being one of the country’s most lauded rappers, ProVerb soon won favour with audiences, who rallied for him to remain on the show. And just like that, the perfect host was born!

With a portfolio that boasts such titles as a published author, respected public speaker, and a master of ceremonies, it’s not hard to see why the wordsmith will have stayed with the show until the final moment of the farewell season. With a smooth cadence and a breeze of authenticity, ProVerb has been able to calm the contestants, play their hype man, and keep viewers excited about every episode.
