In a grand spectacle at Mosaiek Teatro this past Saturday, the curtain descended on Nkosi's journey in Idols SA, marking the Top 3 finalists in the historic final season of the iconic show.
The judging panel, featuring the fabulous trio of Somizi, Thembi Seete, and JR, stole the spotlight with their impeccable fashion choices. Thembi's avant-garde golden ensemble, adorned with intricate details hovering over her face, earned her praise from Somizi, showcasing a harmonious blend of high fashion on the judging panel.
Despite a remarkable run in the competition, Nkosi bade farewell, leaving behind a legacy of mesmerising performances and a devoted fanbase.
Known for his mellow and smooth voice, Nkosi created a breezy atmosphere in each performance, earning admiration for his unique vocal style. Although he didn't secure a spot in the Top 3, Nkosi's journey was a testament to his undeniable talent and the impact he made on both the judges and South African viewers.
The Top 3 contenders – Faith, Princess, and Thabo – embraced the challenge of performing thrice in a dazzling array of themes. From revisiting their standout performances in "Song of The Season" to paying homage to their musical influences in "My Idol" and heating up the stage with "SA DJ Hits," the Top 3 left no stone unturned.
The stakes soared as South African votes now hold the power to crown the ultimate winner, with a grand prize of R1-million and other coveted rewards awaiting the last ever Idols SA champion.
As the judges reminded the Top 3 that crunch time was imminent, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation. Each finalist was urged to be mindful of the momentous occasion and deliver performances that would etch their names in the annals of Idols SA history.
Nkosi, though bidding farewell, left an indelible mark, showcasing the transformative journey and growth that defined his time on the stage. His talent shone bright, a beacon of inspiration for aspiring artists who watched him navigate the highs and lows of the competition.
Nkosi’s voice first left the judges during the audition phase.
He continued to captivate at Theatre Week.
And perhaps one of his most talked about performances is when he delivered an awe-inspiring rendition of Nathi’s ‘Imimoya’.
