Mzansi Magic viewers can enjoy the return of popular reality series I Blew It, a show that follows the fortune and misfortune of ordinary South Africans.
The series returns for its fifth season on Tuesday 28 March and will look into the lives of those who struck gold when they received an unexpected good fortune, but then blew it all in an instant.
Remember Keletso Motati who blew up R4.3 million on five vehicles, including an ambulance last season? His friend and mom's re-enactment were the talk of town!
Viewers will be excited to know that this season is packed with brand-new features, which include these below:
The I Blew It chair:
The chair idea will make the show have a symbol that represents it. Most shows have logos and presenters, which makes it easier to recognise or to market it everywhere any time. The I Blew It chair will be the show’s new non-human presenter.
Opening sequence:
The show will start as usual with establishing shots and a background music playing, then cut straight to the interview space where there will be the I Blew It chair. We’ll then see the participant entering the shot, then intercuts with close-ups. While all that is happening, the subject will introduce themselves and sit down and proceed with normal I Blew It interview shots.
Re-enactments:
These will improve to another level, not only visually but with locations and props as well. The re-enactment will be shot in places that showcase almost the actual representation of what the subjects are talking about and as for the fun part, they will be in a music video style.
This season will also see brand-new stories, which include reality television star and musician Bongani Fassie, Petrus “Small Ma Million” Masumbuka who blew his R1.8 million pay-out from The Road Accident Fund on expensive hotel living and nightlife, as well as Tim Brien who spent his R3 million inheritance on buying love from family and friends and making bad investments.
Excited already? Catch the I Blew It season premiere on Tuesday 28 March at 20:00 on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161).
