We are only a few sleeps away from sitting front-row watching two friends battle it out in hopes of being crowned the maid of honour when Battle of the Bridesmaids premieres this Sunday at 18:00.
Carrying us through this journey will be the talented Candice Modiselle. We know her as a TV host and an actor but now we go deeper than the surface.
She is the youngest of three children
It is a family of creatives with two older sisters who are also in the entertainment industry. Her oldest sister, Refilwe Modiselle is a model, activist, and TV personality; and Bontle Moloi is her other sister, the amazing dancer and actor that we all know so well.
Drama is in her veins
Modiselle studied drama as a high school subject from Grade 10 to Matric at McAuley House Convent in Parktown, Johannesburg. She also went on to graduate from the University of Witwatersrand in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Arts (Honours).
She has always been an achiever
She was one of six finalists in the ACT DALRO performance scholarship competition in 2012.
She was on everyone’s favourite show
YOTV Live, the children’s entertainment slot on SABC, was where every young star wanted to see themselves and she managed to land a presenting gig in June 2016, spending two years on the show .
It all started on Mzansi Magic
Being the all-rounder that she is, in 2019 she landed her first starring role in television in the Mzansi Magic drama series Impilo (The Scam).
Now that we have scratched beneath the surface, we can sit back and get ready to watch her walk the bride through her journey of choosing the one.
