If you haven't heard by now Clash of The Choirs South Africa is coming to your province for auditions. 🙌
Solo singers and choirs are welcome to audition in what promises to be an epic season. You heard right, there's R1 million up for grabs and a chance to launch your career. If you're feeling a little nervous, here are some tips to help you get through the intense audtioning process.
1. Prepare in advance
Find out the location in advance and plan the logistics days before your audition, ensure you have the right venue and correct times. Don't forget light refreshments such as water, mouth mints, chapsticks and fruit so you're hydrated and ready when the moment of truth arrives.
2. Confidence is key 🔑
Vocals are everything but personality and confidence is the cherry on top. Own your audition and make sure you leave no crumbs. The choirmasters are looking for performers that can enchant the masses. Bring your most authentic self and remember YOU are enough, whether you pass the audition process or not.
3. Warm up those vocals 🔥
Warming up your voice stretches your vocal chords and helps clear your throat. It helps with breathing too. So don't skip this crucial step.
4. Practice makes perfect 🎤
Don't travel all this way just to wing it, practice makes perfect. Try different arrangements and styles until you have the winning one. Don't overdo it however, cause you still need your voice for the big auditions.
5. Pick a winning song that matches your vocals 🎵
If the chosen song doesn't suit your style as a solo singer or choir, or showcase your strengths, don't do it. As the saying goes, 'You can't sell a song that you don't believe in'.
