Four seasons of exclusive interviews and massive performances.
MASSIVE MUSIC HOST GALLERY

Massive Music is a music show that's been doing it for the culture! This show has been at the forefront of local music and entertainment for four seasons now and it’s doing the most. Celebrating local musicians and artistry is the show’s blueprint, it’s no wonder it’s been a perfect synergy for Mzansi Magic.

Massive Music has held our hands through hip- hop beefs, GQOM debates, and embraced the undeniably popular yano’s. It has helped us say goodbye to Mzansi’s most loved musicians, such as Jabba, Johnny Clegg, and Idols runner up Thami Shobede. Simply put, it has continued to give people what they want. We’re taking you down memory lane, let’s go!

Name them, we’ve had them on the show.

We’re not shy to name drop! We’ve had award-winning artists and producers from various genres such as AKA, Ralf Gum, Ntokozo Mbambo, Donald, Amanda Black, Semi Tee, and more. However, the show still gives artists who are bubbly under and making waves a platform to connect with Mzansi.

Here's just a few of the best below:

1. Aka and Anatii, Holy Mountain.

Let's go all the way to 2017! When AKA and Anatii were making waves with their joint album, 'Be careful what you wish for."

2. A Johnny Clegg tribute

Yvonne Chaka Chaka talks about Johnny Clegg, his impact and his contribution to the music in this celebration of music.

3.  Nasty C, Strings and Bling.

Nasty C, performs hit single setting the lyrical stage on fire.

4.  Donald performs Mina Nawe.

Donald performs Mina Nawe on Massive Music, one of the many hits he performed during this lockdown special.

We recently asked our presenter Lalla, what her favourite performance has been on the show and she put Kamo Mphea's, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small's 'Sandton' performance at number one...we don't blame her. The performance was pure fire! Areyeng Sandton! 🔥  🔥  🔥

Smash Afrika's favourite moments

Smash Afrika insists that every episode is a favourite for him, but the tribute shows have a special place in his heart. "The Johnny Cleg tribute was a standout episode for me, you get to go through a musician's lifetime in 30 minutes and we have to make it work. Personally all the episodes of season one were also memorable, cause had I just started out," says Smash.

See what else he says about the Massive Music journey in the clip below:

Drip drip!

We don't mean to brag but our faves can really rock that drip! Every time they pull up the combos are communicating. An important part of music culture and art is fashion. As much as clothes tell a story of a specific genre and it’s origins, it’s clear to see our faves are on the pulse of youth culture! The beautiful and vibrant set also compliments our presenters, cementing the amazing vibes that are on your screens every Friday.
