A look at all the Zulu wedding swag served by our fav Isibaya gents at the Zungu wedding!
isibaya gents

The cliche is that women are the ones who take weddings, let alone wedding attire, more seriously than men. Howeverm we're learning that our brothers want to look just as good at a friend or family member's nuptials! We take a look at how the Isibaya gents swagged up for the Zungu wedding!

Duma – The traditionalist

On any given day, you'll catch Duma in a suit. So you'd think at a wedding he would be killing in one of his fine suits again. But if there is one thing we know about Duma it's that he respects and honours his Zulu heritage. So it makes sense that we would dress as a classic induna in inJobo neBeshu.

Jabu – The Modernist

A crisp white shirt with a bit of print is how Jabu decides to celebrate his culture honouring both his Zulu culture and modern taste.

S'khaleni – The Joburg ZuluBoy

S'khaleni may not be the kind of ZuluBoy from eBhubesini, but he is Zulu through and through. He chose to dress up in dashiki-like gear with the unique Zulu headgear worn by men of high ranking and some beads - and we're loving it.

Dabula – The Suited King

He has often been described as nothing more than a Joburg boy trying to make it in eBhubesini while understanding nothing about it. Chief Dabula has proven this to be true in some cases but not true in many more ways. As Cebisile said, "He is more complicated than that." A modern king he chose to attend the Zungu wedding in a classic fitted checked suit and a crisp white shirt.

Melusi – The Millenial

We loved Melusi dressed in umbhulaselo for his father's wedding. It's the modern Zulu wedding look all the cool kids are rocking.

Sengwayo – The Big Induna

Mpiyakhe Zungu is a many of many contradictions that seems to both confuse and make sense. He is a killer and a peacemaker, a traditionalist and a modern man. When it comes to his wedding, he keeps it strictly traditional opting to wear amashoba, injobo nebeshu.

Stay tuned for more celebrations of Zulu culture on #Isibaya every Monday to Friday at 20:30!
