Thembi Seethe
Thembi Seete is a South African kwaito star and actress best known as one of the members of the kwaito supergroup Boom Shaka, from 1994-2000.
After the band broke up Seete simultaneously launched a solo music career and a career in acting.
She played a minor role in the 2000 feature film Hijack Stories, but first made her mark in the hard-hitting SABC1 drama series Yizo Yizo. She also sang the popular track Sure Ntombazana for the soundtrack to Yizo Yizo 2, which helped launch her solo music career.
Seete played the role of Lerato in the first two seasons of the SABC1 drama series Gaz'lam, from 2002-2004, and made a final guest appearance in the show's third season premiere, entitled "Ghosts of the Past", which aired on 18 February 2005.
In 2005 she played the role of Pumla in the South African made-for-TV movie Crossing the Line, written and directed by Brian Tilley.
The following year she landed the leading role of Nina Moloi in the SABC1 soccer drama series Zone 14, which she continues to play in the third season, in 2010.
In January 2006 she played the guest starring role of Lily, a young kwaito legend making a comeback who is brutally murdered, in an episode of the SABC1 drama series Mtunzini.com. The title of the episode was "Lily" (Season 1, Episode 3).
Since May 2006 she has been presenting the SABC1 music dance show Jika Majika. Thembi is currently launching her upmarket studio where all artists are welcomed to utilise and create magic and soon be dropping her new album!
Thembi is available for performances, acting, choreography, MCing and guest appearances.
