Martin met Zimbabwe-born Tafadzwa at her workplace where he used to arrive weekly, super early, even before official opening time, to bet on horses. Tafadzwa caught his attention but she was put off by the Kaizer Chiefs jersey he had on, as she was a staunch Orlando Pirates supporter.
Caught staring, Tafadzwa asked Martin what he was looking at, and he smoothly replied, "You." She agreed to go on a date with him, which became another and another, and they soon became inseparable.
