Ipeleng Radebe
Ipeleng Radebe is our classic perfectionist, control freak, driven, ambitious, young, beautiful, and just a little bit too determined, or psycho as her male friends like to call her to give up on her ideas of what her life is supposed to be.
Her drive and ambition on the previous season saw her being promoted to VP of Finance at Lwethu Insurance Brokers, and on her personal front losing her boyfriend of seven years and finding herself pregnant. But, more than any other character, Ipeleng suffers the adage “What screws us up the most in life, is the picture in our heads of how life is supposed to be”. This is compounded by the fact that Ipeleng has always had her life laid out for her; Ipeleng expects her life to be like a rollout plan.
She pursues goals doggedly, thinks the answer “no”, is just a sign that you have to try another plan. In fact Ipeleng’s personal motto is – “If plan A didn’t work. There are 25 more letters in the alphabet.” Her stubborn and spoiled nature may have something to do with her being a first-born and pathfinder… or it may be because she is a little controlling, and a little too demanding.
A lack of power and control over her life is something that she cannot handle or accept, and stubborn as she is, she isn’t likely to give up her plan without some bloodshed, or at least some well-placed tears. A softie at heart, Ipeleng will always do the right thing, even if it does not serve her.
