Looks like David Ramokgopa’s biggest mistake was underestimating Banzi Motaung’s capability to follow through with his plan to run for the Mayor position. With Ramokgopa out and Banzi now the Interim Mayor, one wonders what plans he has for the city.
Here’s how Banzi climbed to the top:
- The R50 million heist
Banzi teamed up with Kero, Karlujah, Diamond, Cheez and MK and stole “Ramokgopa’s R50 million.” He further got the upper hand when he made a generous donation towards the student housing crisis.
- The vote of no confidence campaign
He then bribed Ndlovu, a member of Ramokgopa’s party to call an emergency congress meeting so they could vote Ramokgopa out of office.
- The plot to kill Karlujah
When Ramokgopa found “dirt” on Karlujah, Banzi’s former right-hand man, Lihle convinced Banzi to kill Karlujah to stop him from testifying against Banzi. Let’s just say, Karlujah was handed to Banzi on a silver platter by Jackson and sadly, Banzi finished him off.
With Karlujah out of the way and no potential threat to his plan of overthrowing Ramokgopa, the city woke up to the news of Banzi being voted the city’s Interim Mayor.
Now, Banzi is a man with many enemies and the news of him being voted the Interim Mayor didn’t sit well with many. Kero for one, said this was far from over! How long can Banzi stay in power?
