“Yvonne is a love of my life. She is the music to my heart. Anatuliza roho yangu … Nimepata mtu ako na roho safi. This goddess has been part and parcel of my growth and change. She has had a positive effect on my life, she understands my stupidity, ameleta class kwa maisha yangu, and knows the good and bad”.
That’s how Sauti Sol band member Savara Mudigi described the love of his life, Yvonne. He was not shy to show his affection.
On a recent trip to Lamu, the two love birds gave viewers a look into their relationship. It was easy to see how close and comfortable they are around each other even in the presence of their close family.
Later when they got back to Nairobi, Savara took Yvonne on a trip down memory lane. He took her to Eastlands, where he grew up and showed her all the spots he used to hang out at his parent’s house in Jericho, and where he played football with his primary school friends.
Savara and Yvonne met at an African music festival just before the Covid-19 pandemic. “Corona brought us together and that’s one of the positive things about the pandemic.” They spent lockdown together and as they say the rest is history.
