Eric and Diana first met in December 2017 at a Kenyan get-together in Cape Town. They were both from Nairobi but were studying at a South African university.

Eric admits that marriage was not a priority for him, and he never dated while he was a student. Diana, on the other hand, knew that she wanted to marry a tall, dark and handsome man one day. 

Her dream came true at a social event when she met Eric. She was drawn to his kind and polite demeanour, and they decided to start dating soon after. Eric then proposed to Diana on Table Mountain and after finishing their studies, they returned to Kenya and began their wedding preparations.

The wedding

Eric and Diana chose to have an intimate garden wedding at Fuchsia Gardens in Limuru. Their wedding was unique in two ways:

• It was an adult affair – no children were invited because the couple wanted their guests to fully enjoy all their wedding moments
• Diana was veiled by her father because her mother passed away months before her wedding. She felt it was appropriate for her father to veil her in her mother’s absence.

Her father had the following words of advice:

You are in safe hands

The Lord is with you

Have peace and the strength that comes from the Lord
