The season premiere of Salem introduced us to two families and followed them as they went about their daily lives.
We met Zahra, a typical trophy wife and Mufasa, a handsome businessman who share two beautiful children and live in the posh area of New Muthaiga. Their children attend St. Christopher's; high-end first-class school located in the leafy suburbs of Karen.
We then met Titus’ family who live in the slums of Salem. His mother Judy is a social worker that helps survivors of domestic abuse, child-headed households and sex workers. The show compared and contrasted the lives of these two families and showed how different these two worlds can be. However, in an interesting twist of events, both worlds collided in the most unlikely circumstances.

When Tito and his fellow hijackers took Mufasa’s car and handed it over to the buyer, Mama Aziza, little did they know that she was Zahra’s mother – the same woman whose husband they killed in the hijacking!
How will she face her Zahra and live her life knowing that her underground operations led to the death of her daughter’s husband?
