Naudé survived, but she is still in a critical condition in hospital. This brazen assassination attempt is just one in a long line of hits on prominent investigators: detectives, liquidators, and even city officials. This scam is part of a larger movement to create a Khoisan leadership class worthy of state perks and influence.
