There are plenty of reasons why kids of all ages love the lazy December holidays, but what would this time of the year be without the M-Net Movies Smile Animania festival? This year’s feast of Animania films on DStv channel 105 promises to be even bigger and better – and much more fun!
For six weeks, starting on Wednesday 6 December, M-Net Movies Smile will take viewers on an imaginary Animania World Tour. During this 42-day trip you will be accompanied by all your favourite animated characters - from the adventurous Moana to the adorable minions and the big ocean’s cutest forgetful fish, Dory.
The animated films on the M-Net Movies Animania World Tour will be scheduled according to weekly themes:
- Week 1 belongs to the "A Graders”. In this week see all the films that received several accolades and made big bucks at the box office daily at 19:00. Tune in for films such as Finding Dory, Sing, Moana, Monsters vs. Aliens and Minions.
- In Week 2 M-Net Movies Smile takes a walk on the wild side with all your furry and fuzzy animal favourites. Every day at 19:00, catch films like Animals United, The Nut Job, Over The Hedge, Tarzan, Open Season: Scared Silly, Madagascar and Madagascar 2.
- In Week 3 at 11:00, glamorous Barbie is strolling into the limelight. From princesses to fairies, dog lovers to space explorers, Barbie is your companion on all magical adventures imaginable.
- Week 4 is all about big heart, big emotion, good vibes and good waves. Every day at 19:00 the Animania World Tour dives into the ocean to join the sea creatures of Shark Tale, Sammy 2: The Turtle’s Tale, The Reef 2, Spongebob Squarepants The Movie and Surf's Up 2: Wave Mania.
- Adventure and Pokemon will fill Week 5 at 19:00. Enter the fighting Kung-Fu pandas and aliens trying to Escape from Planet Earth. Also showing is Maya The Bee, Flushed Away, The Good Dinosaur, Ice Age: Collision Course, Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 3.
- To round it all off, daily at 19:00, Week 6 takes to the skies with “Birds”. In this week, you can fly away with all the fantastic winged creatures from airborne films like Zambezia, Angry Birds, Rio, Free Birds, and Yellowbird.
If you don’t have access to M-Net Movies Smile on DStv Premium, you can also enjoy animated fun on M-Net Movies Zone with the channel’s very first movie festival for kids. “Kids Club” will show delightful films for the young ones. The channel has lined up 5 hours of rib-tickling, side-splitting movies 7 days a week: on weekdays between 10:00 and 15:00 and on weekends between 9:00 and 14:00.
