Would you survive in these fictional eerie towns?
Dont Worry Darling

Warning, spoilers alert. This Sunday you are going to be taken on a psychological ride with the thriller, Don't Worry Darling. The movie stars Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde as a married couple who suspect that something sinister is going on in their hometown. Before you tune in, let's look at some movies where things got eerie in town.

The Stepford Wives

Based on Ira Levins's chilling novel of the same name comes this 2004 screen adaptation, starring Nicole Kidman and Matthew Broderick. Joanna Eberhart (Kidman) moves into a new town called Stepford with her husband  Walter (Broderick) and encounters its sinister setup. The wives of the town appear to be perfect ... a little too perfect. After a series of bizarre events, Joanna discovers that the wives are fitted with microchips to function as controlled robots to cater to their husband's needs. Walter and Joanna realise their deadly predicament and are forced to carry on as normal, but plan to destroy the microchip programming machine and escape the dangerous town.

The Truman Show

Jim Carrey gave an outstanding performance in this sci-fi drama and gave us that epic catchphrase, "Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night." Imagine waking up one day only to discover that your entire life is a TV show. Well, that's what exactly happens to Truman Burbank. The movie slowly unwraps as Truman begins to suspect that something isn't quite right in his hometown Seahaven Island after noticing daily reoccurring patterns that seem rehearsed. While the townspeople ensure him nothing is wrong, he sets out on a mission to find the truth, escape The Truman Show and get a taste of the real world.

Pleasantville

Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon drive this fantasy sci-fi. Siblings David and Jennifer love watching the 1950 TV show Pleasantville. After a TV repairman gives them a magical remote, they are transported into the black-and-white town of Pleasantville. They discover how peculiar the town really is, such as the fact that fire doesn't exist, the banning of colour, and the limited emotions of its residents. David and Jennifer play along at first but later devise a plan to change Pleasantville for the better before returning to the real world. In the end, they succeed to bring cheer to Pleasantville, while David returns home, Jennifer decides that it's the perfect town and chooses to stay behind.
