The final instalment of one of global television’s biggest hits of the last decade, Yellowstone, brings cataclysmic drama to M-Net (DStv Channel 101), Express from the US every Monday from 11 November at 20:00.

The second half of the fifth season – slated to be the show’s last – picks up with the Dutton family still in danger. The ranch hands make their way to the Four Sixes in Texas to save their cattle, leaving Kayce (Luke Grimes) in charge. Jamie (Wes Bentley) has the upper hand over Beth when threatening to reveal John's (Kevin Costner) involvement in multiple murders. Having anticipated his family's moves, Jamie looked to Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) for help – and she convinced him to hire assassins. The stage is set for an intense showdown in the final, most shocking chapter of the series.

A teaser for the second half of season 5 reveals Beth looking bereft, which could signal that it won’t be a happy goodbye for Costner’s character John, with the actor already having exited the series. Luke Grimes reinforces this, ending the footage by saying the show “brought me to tears.” The path for the Yellowstone characters is one of the biggest, best-kept secrets in global television at the moment, with the entire season cloaked in mystery.

In the teaser, director Christina Voros explains that there was a lot of security around the script and the narrative, with Teeter actor Jennifer Landon saying: “We get these redacted scripts. Basically, everything is blacked out except for your lines.”

Cole Hauser (ranch foreman Rip Wheeler) and Gil Birmingham (Chief Thomas Rainwater) return, with Wendy Moniz (Governor Lynelle Perry), Jennifer Landon (ranch hand Teeter), and Kathryn Kelly (vet Emily) becoming series regulars for season five. Josh Lucas, who plays the younger version of John Dutton, returns alongside Kylie Rogers (young Beth Dutton) and Kyle Red Silverstein (young Rip Wheeler) – and Q'orianka Kilcher returns as Angela Blue Thunder, a character not seen since the season 3 finale.

Watch Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2, Express from the US on M-Net (Channel 101) every Monday from 11 November at 20:00. The series will also be available on DStv Stream and all previous seasons are available to binge on Showmax.
