Legacy catch up article

Let's be clear, binge watching is a commitment, a long-term commitment. With the holidays upon us, meaning the closure of many schools, universities, and offices, there is no better time to put your feet up and relax in front of your favourite screen – TV, laptop, tablet, whatever you prefer.

To help you out, DStv has a Legacy marathon waiting for you. If you missed out on episode 1 in September, or would like to re-watch it, this is your chance to start from the beginning and get caught up on the show that has everyone talking. And it is ALL 50 episodes available so be sure to prepare yourself.

Here's our handy guide to get into position before you start.

  1. Load up on snacks and drinks

We recommend to have a minimum of at least three of your favourite snacks and be sure to satisfy different cravings ranging from salty, to sweet, and savoury. πŸ• 🍫Remember different textures too – everything from wine gums to popcorn. The additional benefit of popcorn is that it'll make you feel as if you're at the movies.Β

The same can be said for drinks. Whether you prefer alcoholic beverages or cool drink, keep it all close by so you don't have to get up too often, unless you want to stretch your legs. See point six below. But remember water above all else because it is important to stay hydrated.

Then if you suddenly want something you may not have, order it in! There are many delivery food apps so make the most of this technology.

  1. No uncapped data? Ensure you have enough to watch

While a stable and reliable internet connection is becoming more and more of a necessity, it is not yet a reality for many.Β πŸ”› If you are catching up on Legacy, do buy enough data so you aren't left hanging at a pivotal scene. Trust us, not knowing what is happening in Legacy is simply agonising!

  1. Above all else, be comfortable!

Whether you're on your bed or couch or pool chair, make sure you have enough pillows or cushions and blankets to adjust yourself when you need to. And well, a blanket if it suddenly cools down or if you're binge watching at night.Β

  1. Proper attire

No one wants to binge watch anything wearing a tux or ball gown. The go-to clothes are loose, airy and elasticated. With all the snacks, your waist will be grateful for something that allows room for expansion. Think pyjamas, track suits, leggings, lounge wear πŸ‘Œ – everything we have already been wearing for most of 2020 as we stayed indoors because of the pandemic. Think of Lexi's dramatic transformation after the accident, but that's all we're saying else, spoilers.

  1. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb

This is the equivalent of putting the same sign on your door handle in a hotel. In this day and age of constant connectivity, it might also be a nice reprieve to not look at your phone for a few hours.Β πŸ“΄

  1. Get moving

We don't mean a sprint but do get up and stretch if you need to every few hours or so. And since we aren't vampires, as far as we know even Angelique, sit outside in the sun to get some vitamin D. 🌞

  1. Ventilation

Do keep a window or door open so there is plenty of fresh air because, let’s face it, watching TV with a multitude of snacks for hours can make any room smell ripe.Β πŸ”

See episodes 1 to 50 on DStv from 15 December 2020 to 5 January 2021.
