Since last week’s eventful final dates, filmed at Kapama Game Reserve, fans of The Bachelor SA have been waiting with bated breath to see how the final episode plays out. Who will Bachelor Marc choose at the end of this dramatic season? Shy speech therapist Marisia or extrovert Bridget, who gradually worked her way into the hearts of Marc and viewers alike? Will Marc go down on bended knee to propose? What will the ring look like? Will there be a fairy-tale ending? And, what’s happening with this season’s  “Women Tell All” and “After The Final Rose” get-togethers during lockdown?

M-Net is finally lifting the lid, but only on some of these pressing questions, of course. By the time South Africa’s lockdown had commenced, the entire season was already in the can. Howard Friedman from the legendary Jack Friedman Jewellers, established in 1933, arrived at Kapama on Marc’s request and the final events unfolded against the most spectacular African sunset. The only outstanding item for the final broadcast on Thursday 28 May was the live-to-tape studio recording during which the ladies reunite to speak their minds.

“To keep our cast and crew safe and adhere to lockdown restrictions around travel and social gatherings, we had to turn to technology to bring back the ladies and ensure a fitting finale to a riveting season,” says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard.

The result? A special, world-first, 60-minute lockdown episode that will integrate the last day at Kapama with Zoom calls during which some of the ladies share their thoughts about life in the mansion, Marc, and the love journeys of Bridget and Marisia. At the end of the episode, viewers will also see what happened “after the final rose”.

But that’s not where the action stops. After the end credits roll, fans will be invited to the unique, quirky The Bachelor SA Pyjama Afterparty on the M-Net website. This is where the ladies will get the opportunity to grill Marc about his decisions and their departures, and clear the air around some of the drama in the mansion. There will be Zoom group calls, as well as individual video sessions from the ladies’ homes.  We will also find out how lockdown has been treating them, and if they have perhaps found another love interest after leaving the show.

Here’s a list of some of the clips to feature during The Bachelor SA Pyjama Afterparty, taking place on Thursday 28 May.

  • The ladies talk about their relationships in the mansion.
  • Qiniso, Daniella, Silke, and Stefanie share behind-the-scenes moments not seen on screen.
  • Marc answers questions from Gillian, Rikki, Pasha, Jess C, Andeline, and Silke
  • Jason and Marc get real as they reflect on the season and find out whether Marc would change anything.
  • The ladies play the LottoStar ‘Most Likely To’ game one more time, now that they’ve watched the season.
  • Xia, Greta, Pi, Tamryn, Michaela, Mulesa, and Parushka share where they are now and reflect on their experiences from this season.
  • The ladies and Marc respond to spicy viewer tweets.

The Bachelor SA Season 2 airs every Thursday at 19:00 on M-Net channel 101.
