Prep your pink looks and text your friends. The official Barbie movie comes to DStv BoxOffice next month. The iconic blockbuster will be available for rental on DStv BoxOffice from Wednesday 8 November for only R60.
Having taken the world by a pink storm, the Barbie movie grossed over $200 million dollars at the US box office. The all-star cast has received rave reviews from major international publications. In a five-star review, the Independent's Clarisse Loughrey said: "Barbie is one of the most inventive, immaculately crafted and surprising mainstream films in recent memory.”
The movie stars Oscar nominees Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and is a brilliant mix of nostalgic Barbie moments, with modern satire and comedy. Barbie Land is a perfect place ... unless you’re going through a full-on existential crisis.
The American fantasy comedy film sees Barbie and Ken having the time of their lives in the colourful and perfect world of Barbie Land, where life in plastic is fantastic. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.
The film is directed by Greta Gerwig and is the first live-action Barbie film after numerous animations.
