They say no good deed goes unpunished. That was almost the case for a group of Carte Blanche viewers who had rolled up their sleeves to help disabled children at the state-run Ikwezi Lokusa Special School in the Eastern Cape. In September this year, our investigation exposed gross negligence and human rights violations at the boarding school, with vulnerable children left to fend for themselves. It was a story that moved many of our viewers into action, arranging trucks full of donations for the children. But when it was time to deliver, the volunteers were locked out of the school while the provincial Department of Education did nothing to intervene. But we could not let these children - who have been through so much - be deprived yet again. Your favourite episodes are now available on Carte Blanche: The Podcast: https://linktr.ee/carteblanchetv
