News

This week, the #WeddingBashers venture into strange terrains – again! Meet the couples.

Billy van Biljon and Renier Lindeque

After 21-year old Renier proposed to 31-year old Billy, the couple decided that they were going to go for a very hippy, earthy look, and would get married barefoot in the forest called Kaapsehoop, 40km outside Nelspruit.

The venue boasts amazing views and wild horses which makes it perfect for the couple’s Fox and Wolf theme, which is based on a story that Renier wrote about two lost souls from different worlds who fall in love and become family.

Guests will watch the pair exchange vows in their woodland haven, after which they will all picnic together under a canopy of trees. Billy is planning the perfect day, but will all their guests appreciate their outdoor nuptials and will everyone find the very specific wedding location?

Lutfiyya Variawa and Yusuf Kara

This young couple met at a matric dance and seven years later they are ready to say ‘I do!’.

The theme of Lutfiyya and Yusuf’s wedding reception is ‘winter wonderland’, with an Indian/Muslim flair, with the festivities following on after their traditional Nikkah, which is being held at Johannesburg’s Turkish Mosque in Midrand.

The reception will incorporate a photo-booth, a guitarist, and a feast of food. The couple’s families have been heavily involved, with the bride’s family following the tradition of paying for the wedding, whilst the groom-to-be has been focused on keeping his Mrs. calm.

Lutfiyya is particularly concerned about the fact that she is clumsy and doesn’t want to fall in her gown, whilst Yusuf is trying hard to not be late for his own wedding, a bad habit that he appears to have!

Meanwhile with the religious ceremony and the reception being held in two different parts of the city, their special day is going to be quite busy.

The Wedding Bash(ers) is broadcast on M-Net channel 101 every Sunday night at 17:00. Follow all the breaking news and conversations around the show on Twitter @MNet / #WeddingBashers or on the official M-Net Facebook page.
