Spring has sprung and with it comes a charming and quirky line-up for your Friday night movies this September. Tune in every Friday night at 20:00 on M-Net channel 101 for these great titles.

Asteroid City

Friday 6 September

Fans of Wes Anderson will not want to miss the latest feature film in his oeuvre. It’s got UFOs, deserts, retro vibes, funky tunes, and just the most insanely awesome cast including Jason Schwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Maya Hawke, Hong Chau, and Margot Robbie, many of whom have worked with Anderson before.

Bob Marley: One Love

Friday 13 September

This one’s for the fans! If you love Bob Marley, be sure to check out this biographical drama about the famous reggae singer. Marley is portrayed by English actor Kingsley Ben-Adir, whom you might recognise as Basketball Ken from Barbie or as Colonel Ben Younger, if you’re a Peaky Blinders’ devotee.

Strays

Friday 20 September

This one’s a little heartbreaking to start with as a dog called Reggie realises he’s been abandoned by his owner. But this pooch is voiced by Will Ferrell, so you know it’ll soon turn into a barrell of laughs.

Jules

Friday 27 September

The month ends as it began … with a dramedy involving a UFO and the middle of nowhere. But the look and feel of this film starring Ben Kingsley is completely different to Asteroid City, making it a neat way to bookend the month.
