We'd like to make special thanks to some of our donors who have made such progress possible.
LIXIL Africa is the South Africa-based division of LIXIL, which makes water and housing products that touch the lives of more than a billion people around the world, every day.
"As LIXIL we feel very privileged to be working with Carte Blanche’s MAD Trust and the Ngwelezane Hospital Pediatric Unit project in particular and we are pleased that they can rely on us to help them solve the real-life challenges that the children of this community are currently experiencing.
We are mindful however that we also have a great deal of expert plumbing skills in our organisation and look forward to the opportunity to pass these on to the local plumbing fraternity in Ngwelezane leaving behind a legacy that we can be proud of. But we are mindful that water is Africa’s scarcest and most precious natural resource, too."
"Pelican Systems is aware of the challenges we face as South Africans and the great need that there is for business involvement and support to address issues of poverty and to compensate in a small way for inadequate basic services that really are the right of every person in South Africa.
While our main focus is to run a successful business and ensure the sustainability and continuous employment of our employees and their families, and we may not have the resources to run full scale projects such as the renovation of the Paediatric Unit Project at Ngwelezane Hospital, we are more than happy to help when asked and to do whatever we can."

“We are delighted to support the Ngwelezane Hospital Paediatric Burns Unit which is being constructed near Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal. The unit will be close to the hospital and adjacent to the residential area of Ngwelezane.
Fire is almost an everyday occurrence, causing burns particularly among young children who do not know how to protect themselves. By donating the bricks, which are being used in the construction of the clinic so that children, especially from disadvantaged communities needing help, do not have to travel a great distance to obtain specialist treatment. Burns cause severe injury and even death and we believe there is a very real need for this type of medical assistance,” said Dirk Meyer, Corobrik CEO.
"As a responsible corporate citizen, dormakaba South Africa cares about the communities in which it operates. To this end, the company identified the Making a Difference Trust at Ngwelezane Hospital Paediatric Burns Unit as a vitally important initiative that makes a significant difference to the well-being of its patients. We feel passionately about providing assistance to where it is needed most and this partnership reinforces that commitment.
"We were approached by the architects at Hospital Design Group who have undertaken, together with the Carte Blanche Making a Difference Trust, to uplift the paediatric facilities and services for trauma and burns patients at Ngwelezane Hospital.

Acting on these powerful feelings of responsibility is a great way to reinforce our own personal values and feel like we’re living in a way that is true to our own ethical beliefs by being part of Making a Difference Trust at Ngwelezane Hospital Paediatric Burns Unit.

Kwikot has been working with Hospital Design Group (HDG) for many years and provided them with innovative solutions for stainless steel hospital equipment. We have on previous projects worked closely with the professionals at HDG to design and manufacture custom, purpose-made stainless steel products to find solutions to their specific requirements. As a result of our relationship with HDG, they approached us to be a part of this inspiring project with the Carte Blanche Making A Difference Trust.
Kwikot entered into the commercial and domestic stainless steel market in 2005 and has since then become a strong and well-known competitor in the industry. We pride ourselves on exceptional after-sales service and back-up support to all parties involved with our products. From the planning phase of projects with architects, manufacturing and supplying, right through to back-up service on site to the contractors and plumbers with installations of our products. We maintain a high standard of quality in all our stainless steel products and as a result, we are so confident in our products which reflect in the Kwikot Warranty Policy.
We at Kwikot are proud to have our donations installed in the Ngwelezane Hospital Paediatric Burns Unit and more importantly are honoured to be working with the Carte Blanche Making A Difference Trust and Hospital Design Group to contribute to this project in a way that leads towards the greater goal of constantly improving the lives of South Africans for the better.
East Coast Medical are grateful to be included in the Carte Blanche Making A Difference Trust at the burns units within the Ngwelezane Hospital.
With our involvement in the medical field for over 30 years, we can attribute our success from the support we have received from hospitals, such as Ngwelezane Hospital, even when it was still under the administration of the KwaZulu-Natal government.
We believe our success can be attributed to the fact that we believe one cannot simply extract from the market we are in. One has to return some of the windfalls back into the field, much like a farmer who returns nutrients back into the soil after a harvest.
With the experience we have in the market, we know that the supply of equipment is only a small part of the success of the Carte Blanche Making a Difference Trust. With that in mind, we have committed ourselves to a lifetime warranty on the equipment we have supplied, and will ensure that the staff using the equipment are suitably trained in the correct use of the equipment.
We truly believe this new state-of-the-art facility will make a big positive difference to the lives of all patients admitted to the wards and ensure the doctors, specialists and nursing staff have the best facilities to carry out their calling.
