Whether you’re rolling solo or with a partner, M-Net Movies 1 (DStv 104) has a romantic and diverse lineup of movies for this Valentine’s Day and the month of love, led by a fantastic, proudly local film.
Directed and executive produced by Amy Jephta (director of South African official Oscar submission Barakat and the Showmax noir series Skemerdans), the heartfelt Late Bloomer stars Nicole Fortuin (Alles Malan, Die Boekklub) as a party girl in her mid-30s who is forced to grow up when she falls pregnant.
Premiering on Saturday 12 February at 20:00, the flick follows Lauryn, a woman for whom nothing is permanent – not jobs, relationships or even living arrangement. Not only must she confront the choices she’s made, but she also needs to contend with her changing body.
Late Bloomer also stars Danny Ross (Arendsvlei, Suidooster, Skemerdans), Monique Rockman (Suidooster, Gaia), award-winning comedian Kate Pinchuck, and award-winning stage actor Tankiso Mamabolo. Make sure to tune in to this heartwarming work of art.
