It began as a little boy's curious fascination with videos he found on YouTube. But three-year-old Simthandile โ€œSimโ€ Tshabalala wasnโ€™t interested in cartoons or anime. He was spending his playtime obsessively watching golf. By four years old, his father, Bongani took action to help his son develop this interest for the game. It soon became clear that Sim had a golf swing that was well beyond his years. Now 11 years old, the golf prodigy has won multiple trophies. In 2020, he came second in his age group at the prestigious Australian Open. Now he has his sights set on following in the footsteps of his idol, Tiger Woods, to master the 18 holes.
