This month, stars like John Travolta, Hilary Swank, Mark Wahlberg, Dev Patel, and more are joining us on the Sunday night movie couch. Here’s what you can watch.Â
Cash OutÂ
John Travolta can play the hero or the villain, and nail the role each and every time. In Cash Out, he plays professional thief Mason Goddard, who sets out on a big heist. His mission? To rob an elite bank. There’s just one problem: during the heist, Mason and his brother are trapped inside the bank. Surrounded by cops, they have to negotiate their way out, and the head negotiator just so happens to be Mason’s ex (brilliantly played by Kristin Davis). Expect double-crossing, crazy shoot-outs, high-stakes negotiating, and that Travolta charm we know and love. Watch Cash Out on Sunday 6 October at 20:05.Â
Arthur the KingÂ
Dog lovers, this one is for you. Mark Wahlberg stars in the heartwarming movie based on the experiences of Swedish racer Mikael Lindnord, which he captured in his memoir, Arthur – The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home. Inspired by Lindnord’s tales, the movie tells the story of Lindnord (Wahlberg), an adventure race car driver who befriends a stray dog during a race in Ecuador and names him Arthur. Arthur and Mikael journey together for the rest of the race, learning several lessons about love, friendship, and perseverance. Fun fact: Lindnord named the dog Arthur after King Arthur of Camelot, hence the movie title. If you enjoyed the movie Dog with Channing Tatum, then we are sure this one will tug at your heartstrings too. Join the journey with Arthur on Sunday 13 October at 20:05.Â
Ordinary AngelsÂ
Grab the tissues for this one because it’s a real tear-jerker. Hilary Swank stars alongside Alan Ritchson in this touching drama. Hairdresser Sharon (Swank) does everything in her power to help a widowed father, Ed (Ritchson), save his dying daughter who needs a liver transplant. The movie is a story of resilience and shows the depth of a parent’s love. If you’re a fan of My Sister's Keeper, then this one is for you. Interesting fact: The movie is based on true events that took place during the 1994 North American cold wave. Tune in on Sunday 20 October at 20:05.Â
Monkey ManÂ
Did you say Dev Patel? We’re in! Set in a small town in India, Patel stars in this revenge thriller as a man who grows up in a simple village and is referred to as Kid. He leads a mission of vengeance against political leaders who murdered his mother and won’t stop until justice prevails. Patel also directed the movie, boasting his array of incredible talents. The movie is called Monkey Man because Patel’s character was inspired by the stories his mother told him about the Hindu deity Hanuman. Patel’s character is also seen wearing a monkey mask several times in the movie. Watch Dev Patel in this incredible role on Sunday 27 October at 20:05.Â
