Last week: Reyka found herself at the centre of an investigation after Leon Lombard ‘drowns’ in her bed. Ayanda, struggling with her relationship with Zwelethu, couldn’t stop Reyka from exploring the Lover’s Lane killer’s suspected hideout – the tunnels beneath the city. The situation escalated fast and Jodie miraculously came to their aid. Speelman’s visit to Portia unearthed too many terrifying secrets and forced her to take her own life.
This week: All fingers point back to Speelman when Portia turns up dead. The police identify the first female Lover’s Lane victim, but their approach causes an altercation between Reyka and the Brigadier. A flashback shows the moment Speelman first laid eyes on 12-year-old Reyka, months before her abduction while, in the present day, he gets a lead on his own hunt for Gabriel.
Watch out for: An adrenaline-fuelled chase through uShaka Marine World that sees shots fired in fear.
Did you know?: Reyka was supposed to encounter a crocodile at uShaka Marine World – but the producers spotted the trained seal when exploring the venue and, when they learned he could play a role in the scene, they changed the script.
Location to look out for: The locations where Speelman finds himself while on the run were filmed on the streets of Durban. Producer Harriet Gavshon says that, despite being put in less than glamorous locations and being forced to ‘rough it’, international star Iain Glenn (Speelman) handled everything without a single complaint.
