Fans also love learning fun facts about the show, so we’ve brought you 12 just below. You may know some, or all, of these facts, or you may be like Jon Snow and know nothing. Whichever you are, feast on these before tuning into Episode 5 on Monday 14 August on M-Net.

  1. Everyone’s wondering whether Jon and Dany will hook up, even though the Mother of Dragons is likely his aunt. But it gets even twistier than that! George R.R. Martin (who wrote the books upon which the show is based) originally wanted Jon and Arya to fall in love.
  2. Another Westerosi who was meant to fall for Arya was Tyrion Lannister.
  3. Courtesy of Season 7 Episode 4’s fiery battle, Game of Thrones set more stunt people on fire than any Hollywood production in history.
  4. Season 7 Episode 4 is also the shortest episode in the series’ history.
  5. Ian Whyte, a Welsh actor and stuntman, has played four characters on the show: a white walker (in Seasons 1 and 2), Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane” (in Season 2), the giant Dongo the Doomed (in Seasons 3 and 4), and the giant Wun Wun (in Seasons 5 and 6).
  6. Fellow Welshman Iwan Rheon, who played Ramsay Bolton, was almost cast as Jon Snow.
  7. Harry Lloyd, who played Dany’s brother Viserys all the way back in Season 1, is Charles Dickens’ great-great-great-grandson.
  8. Another cast member with famous family ties? Oona Chaplin. The actress, who played Talisa Stark in Seasons 2 and 3, is Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter.
  9. The characters’ looks in the show aren’t always modelled exactly after the book’s descriptions. Examples? In the books Euron Greyjoy has an eye-patch, Bran has blue eyes, and Daario has blue hair.
  10. Love Monty Python and the Holy Grail? If you understand Low Valyrian you’ll know that that the insults thrown at Dany in Season 4 by the Champion of Meereen are quotes from the movie.
  11.   The main cast (Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, and Kit Harginton) earn $2 million per episode.
  12. The wolf who plays Ghost is called Quigley, and here's a picture:
