An additional payment method for DStv subscriptions has been made available in Zimbabwe with the launch of the new EcoCash app, which was introduced earlier this month (June).
The upgraded EcoCash mobile application has a range of new features designed for greater convenience for users, such as allowing users to exchange currencies, and it now includes DStv subscription payments as one of the new offers.
Charity Njanji, head of corporate affairs and public relations of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said the new avenue for payments was a welcome addition to the range of methods available to Zimbabwean DStv viewers and would provide a large measure of ease of payment.
“Subscribers are now able to use this EcoCash mobile app or USSD quickly and easily, keeping them connected and in reach of their favourite content on their selected DStv package,” she said.
During the launch, Eugene Chaduka, Chief Technology Officer of EcoCash, said the new app was available for download on Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Huawei App Gallery, and would co-exist with the old application for three months, at which time the previous app would be terminated.
Njanji said Zimbabwean subscribers had a range of payment methods such as Mukuru, online using Master/Visa Card through MyDStv App, selected Banks and Point of Sale inside DStv Branches are available to them and the new Ecocash app would be a welcome addition.
“Full information on all the methods available is always accessible on the MultiChoice Zimbabwe information platforms such as the telecall centre and the website,” she said.
