DStv Olympics Games Paris 2024: Monday 29 July

The Olympics Games Paris 2024 continues Monday 29 July, with Nigeria’s Women’s Basketball team looking to make a statement, while Volleyball, Mountain Biking and Swimming will also feature for DStv viewers.

Nigeria's 'D'Tigress' will be in action in the late morning when they battle Australia in the Women's Basketball tournament, with coach Rena Wakama confident that they can compete on an even footing in Paris 2024.

"The girls are responding well to training and getting better, everyday. And that’s what matters," said Wakama. "I’m confident that the girls will be able to display their talents when we get to Paris. I’m excited and looking forward to the Games."

Kenya's Women's Volleyball team faces a clash against Brazil, while South Africa's Women's Sevens Rugby team will conclude their group stage work with a clash against Great Britain – hoping to qualify for the knockout rounds later in the day, and potentially the Bronze and Gold Medal matches on Tuesday 30 July.

Monday also features Men's Cross Country action in Session 2 of the Mountain Biking events, a Men's Handball clash between Egypt and Denmark, the Men's Team Final in Artistic Gymnastics, and Session 6 of the Swimming, with finals for the Women's 400m Individual Medley, Men's 200m Freestyle, Men's 100m Backstroke, Women's 100m Breaststroke and Women's 200m Freestyle.

South Africa's Tatjana Smith (née Schoenmaker) won a Silver Medal in the Women's 100m Breastroke at Tokyo 2020 and will be aiming for another strong showing – potentially one step higher on the podium – in Paris.

"Everyone knows I’m going to give my best. No one can expect more than that," said the 27-year-old. “I know when I come home everyone’s going to love me just the same. To be [at the Paris 2024] for the second time is already incredible.”
