Say #ThankYouTeacher with DStv

Kids 01 October 2020

DStv’s School of Laughter joins kids everywhere in celebrating educators on World Teacher’s Day, 5 October 2020.

People all over the world were forced to quickly adjust to a new way of life this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In South Africa, the national lockdown meant kids couldn’t attend school, forcing parents to find new ways to help keep kids stimulated and ready for the future.

DStv quickly worked with our channel partners to assist parents in this cause. We launched two new channels - Mindset Pop and Da Vinci – to help parents do school at home.’ This proved valuable to parents and learners alike, as kids were able to stay indoors and entertained while learning new things.

But through it all, 2020 taught us that teachers are #bosso. They stayed committed to our little ones, adapted to new teaching environments virtually overnight and often without much support.

As a means to show love to teachers, especially during this time, DStv is encouraging customers to share the newfound appreciation you have for school teachers based on your recent experiences with homeschooling.

Kids, tell us how much you appreciate teachers by using #ThankYouTeacher, tag DStv on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and you could win of five School of Laughter hampers! Teachers, share your experiences with us on social media using #ThankYouTeacher and you could win one of five School of Laughter laptops!

The competition runs 1 – 5 October and winners will be announced 6 October. If you’re selected as a winner, you’ll only have 48 hours to get in touch with us before we select an alternative – so keep an eye all of DStv’s social media pages to ensure you don’t miss out.
